Located in the heart of Puglia, in Ceglie Messapica, Ristorante Da Gino has been serving real Italian cuisine and a warm atmosphere since 1974. Da Gino is a unique place in the Itria Valley, surrounded by Trulli landscape, secular olive trees, and near the east and west coasts.


Da Gino restaurant is a simple recipe that has been repeated since 1974 and consists of Gino, Vita, the taste for healthy food, familiar recipes and local products.  At just twenty years old Gino and Vita transformed the Trullo (traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof, construction specific to the Itria Valley) and the family stable into a warm and welcoming environment, where they handed down historical family recipes and developed their passion for wild plants.

Da Gino is one of the founders of the local gastronomic culture. The meticulous search for local vegetables and wild plants takes place every morning at the Masseria Lo Jazzo, an endless source of wild plants and flowers. Gino himself uses his wide-ranging experience and passion for food to gather and propose the seasonal produce that the countryside offers.

Around the fire, you feel protected and embraced. The fireplace is the centre point of Da Gino: the place where historical recipes have been created on the grill and concocted in pots and pans.

Wild plants, local vegetables and meat roasts are the basis of the cuisine proposed at Da Gino restaurant. The taste and quality are provided by the Apulian microclimate, while the proximity of all the products guarantees genuineness and freshness.

The recipes enhance the sometimes pungent scents of the territory and are prepared by skilfully using simple ingredients.
